Titanic To Make A 3D ComebackIt would seem that losing so many Oscars this year has made director James Cameron feel the need to re-hash his glory days. The director has confirmed that he will be re-releasing his 1997 movie Titanic, which was the highest grossing film until it was beaten by his latest epic Avatar, in Spring 2012 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the sailing of the ship. According to Sky News, Cameron warned fans not to set their expectations too high: "It's never going to look as good as if you shot it in 3D. But think of it as a sort of 2.8D". Winning him an Oscar for Best Director and cementing his place in the directing-elite, Titanic grossed a record breaking £1.14bn - which held strong until Avatar which grossed a ridiculous £1.15bn. Cameron is also thinking about re-releasing Avatar in the summer: "The question is (whether) the appetite is still going to be there after the summer glut of movies," Cameron said. "We're going to assess that. We're talking about maybe adding in additional footage and doing something creative." |
